SWE CYCLING TEAM SET FOR PARIS-ROUBAIX JUNIOR CHALLENGE

SWE CYCLING TEAM SET FOR PARIS-ROUBAIX JUNIOR CHALLENGE

The legendary cobbles of Roubaix await. On Sunday, April 13, the Swedish Men's Junior National Team will take on their first major international mission of the year—Paris-Roubaix, a grueling test of strength, strategy, and resilience. Part of the prestigious Nations Cup, the race spans 110 kilometers, nearly 30 of which are over brutal pavé sections. The challenge starts early, with the first cobbled sector appearing just three miles into the race.

A BATTLE FOR POSITION

"The first pavé will set the tone for the race finale, so positioning will be absolutely critical," says assistant team captain Alexander Wetterhall, who will lead the team during this iconic one-day classic. "In previous years, the bunch has been really shaky before hitting the cobbles, so we’re expecting a huge fight for placement going into that first sector."

Wetterhall will be supported by Lucas Persson in the Swedish escort car, providing strategic direction and support from the team vehicle throughout the day.

SHARP FORM AND STRONG SPIRIT

Confidence is high after a successful training camp in Skara. The young Swedish riders showed impressive form and readiness, giving the team optimism heading into Roubaix.

"Many of our riders not only felt the pace during training but also performed well in competition," Wetterhall adds. "That kind of preparation gives us a strong foundation going into such a demanding race."
