Argentinian Junior and Youth Road Championship – Junín, Buenos Aires

This past weekend, the Grupo Paris CCN Quintana women’s team proudly represented the San Luis Cycling Federation at the Argentinian Junior and Youth Road Championship, one of the most demanding races on the national calendar. With Valentina and Pía taking on the challenge, the team once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment, passion, and fighting spirit.
Battling Against the Clock
The championship kicked off on Saturday with the individual time trial, where Pía delivered a solid performance, securing 7th place in a tightly contested race. Against a field of elite competitors, she showcased her strength and determination, proving that every second counts in the pursuit of excellence.
A Tough Setback in the Road Race
On Sunday, the road race brought both triumph and heartbreak. Valentina lined up with determination, ready to leave it all on the course. However, midway through the race, she suffered a heavy crash, leaving her unconscious and experiencing convulsions. She was immediately rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Thankfully, after receiving the necessary care, she was discharged late Sunday night. While the crash was a difficult moment, her resilience and fighting spirit remain an inspiration. We know she will come back stronger than ever!
Pía’s Grit and Determination
Despite the emotional toll of Valentina’s accident, the team regrouped, showing incredible resilience as Pía took to the start line for the junior category road race. In an intense and highly strategic competition, she fought her way through the peloton, closing a key breakaway and positioning herself in the final sprint. She secured a remarkable 8th place finish, a testament to her perseverance and tactical awareness.
