The 7-Eleven Cliqq-Road Bike Philippines is set to kick off its 2024 season with a strong showing at the UCI 2.1 Tour of Thailand, scheduled for March 24-29. As the country's longest-running continental cycling team, the squad is eager to make its mark in the international racing scene once again.

 

A Competitive Lineup for Thailand

 

The team will be represented by a dynamic mix of homegrown talents and international reinforcements. Filipino riders Rench Bondoc, John Patrick Pagtalunan, and Joshua Pascual will lead the charge, joined by three key additions: Tyler Douglas Hannay (UK), Luke Burns (Australia), and Edouard Bonnefoix (France). With this balanced mix of experience and fresh talent, the squad is determined to put up a solid performance.

 

Team Director Ric Rodriguez expressed confidence in his riders, stating that while the goal remains modest, the team aims for a respectable finish in Thailand.

The Tour of Thailand is just the beginning of an action-packed calendar for 7-Eleven Road Bike Philippines. The team is also slated to compete in several prestigious races, including:

  • UCI Pro Series Tour of Hainan (April 7-11) – Currently on the waitlist

  • Tour of Luzon (April 23-May 1) – A non-UCI event showcasing top local talent

  • Tour of Benin (April 28-May 3, South Africa)

  • GP International Beiras (May 22-25, Portugal)

  • Tour of Iran (May 27-31)

  • Tour of Romania, Mauritius, Morocco, and Portugal

  • Tour of Qinghai Lake – One of Asia’s most renowned races

  • Le Tour de Langkawi (September)


Chasing Glory in the Asian Tour Standings

 

Now in its 15th season, 7-Eleven Road Bike Philippines has set a bold objective: to finish in the Top 3 of the Asian Tour team standings by the end of the year.

 

Beyond the Tour of Thailand lineup, the team boasts a deep roster of talented riders, including Rex Luis Krogg, Julius Tudtud, Piolo Lugtu, Daniel Josh Corpuz, and King Vincent Mercado. They are joined by Australian cyclists Tristan Saunders and Zac Marriage, along with Eritrean riders Akliku Ghebrehiwet and Natan Medhanie.
