Torres - Sobato Opens the Season on a High Note in First 'Double' of the Year

February has been a month to remember for Torres - Sobato as they embark on their 10th season on the road. Their campaign started with promising performances at the Vuelta al Guadalentín, setting the tone for what has already become a strong start to the year. With the first 'double' weekend of the season behind them, the CD Fernando Barceló Team has proven their strength in two challenging races—Don Benito and Zumaia.

The Guadiana Circuit, known for its role in opening the Copa de España Élite-U23, saw Torres - Sobato's cyclists battle it out in the peloton. After numerous breakaway attempts in the central part of the race, the final victory came down to a quartet of escapees. Meanwhile, Torres - Sobato riders held strong, with Joel Morales securing 36th place and earning the team's first cup points. The collective effort of Alberto Domens and William Kirkham further contributed to the team’s standing, demonstrating the squad’s ability to work cohesively.

One day prior, the Zumaiako Saria kicked off the Euskaldun Tournament with an intense, high-speed race averaging over 45 kilometers per hour. The chaotic final sprint saw Asger Paaske claim 14th place, marking the best result for the Huesca-based team. Ismael Castaño and Edgar Mesa also finished in the peloton, while other teammates faced setbacks due to crashes—fortunately, without significant injuries.

With a strong start to 2024, Torres - Sobato has already displayed resilience and teamwork, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead. The team's early results showcase their potential, and with more races on the horizon, they are poised to achieve even greater success.
