Pía Claveles Rises: From Vuelta a San Juan to Argentina’s Pan American Road Team

The future of women’s cycling in Argentina just got a whole lot brighter.

Pía Claveles, the rising star from San Luis and proud member of Grupo París CCN Quintana, delivered a standout performance at the Vuelta a San Juan Damas Junior, securing 4th place overall and earning her a coveted spot on Argentina’s national team for the upcoming Pan American Road Championships.

Over several grueling stages, Claveles showed not only physical strength but race intelligence beyond her years. She finished 2nd in the Queen of the Mountains classification and 3rd in Stage 2, proving she’s not just one to watch—she’s one to beat. Her poise under pressure and climbing ability were a reflection of both her personal discipline and the preparation of the entire Grupo París CCN Quintana team.

More Than a Podium

This isn’t just a personal achievement—it’s a powerful moment for Argentine women’s cycling. The efforts of Claveles and her teammates throughout the race showcased a new generation of talent backed by dedication, teamwork, and a clear vision for growth. Their presence on the road reflected professionalism, unity, and a deep commitment to the sport.

As the final stage concluded in front of cheering fans along Avenida Circunvalación in San Juan, national sports leaders stood in attendance—among them Guido Romero, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports; Pablo Aubone, President of the San Juan Sports Agency; and Juan José Orrego, Mayor of Santa Lucía. Their presence further emphasized the institutional support driving the development of cycling across all levels in Argentina.

Looking Ahead: Pan American Road Championships

Now, Claveles will take her momentum to the international stage. She has officially been selected to represent Argentina at the Pan American Road Championships, happening April 23–27 in Punta del Este, Uruguay. Organized by COPACI and the Uruguayan Cycling Federation, the event serves as a critical qualifier for the 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Asunción.

At CCN Sport, we are proud to support athletes like Pía who are breaking barriers and redefining what’s possible—on and off the bike.

Congratulations to Pía Claveles and the entire Grupo París CCN Quintana team. The road ahead is bright—and you're leading the way.
