Mentorise Cycling Team Thrives at Continental Anvelope CUP UCI C1 in Romania

The thrill of cyclocross returned in full force for the Mentorise Cycling Team, with the Continental Anvelope CUP UCI C1 bringing elite-level action back to Romania. This prestigious event, held in Urseni, Timisoara, is renowned as the top-rated cyclocross race in Romania, offering a course and organization that meets high UCI C1 standards. With the event held in the late afternoon, our team had the unique experience of racing through the “golden hour,” making it an unforgettable day on the course.

Dust, Sand, and a Strong Finish

The race was a test of skill and endurance, as our riders navigated a one-hour challenge around Timis shore’s twisting paths and an 8-lap loop around a challenging sand pit. Representing the Mentorise Cycling Team, Gerhard Moldansky took on this demanding course with determination and skill, securing an impressive third place in the fourth stage of the National CX Series. Right behind him, teammate Iustin Vaidian powered through to a commendable fifth-place finish in the elite men’s classification.

In the UCI C1 race, which saw the best riders competing for international points, both riders showcased their strength on the international stage. Gerhard finished 12th, while Iustin crossed the line in 19th, both adding valuable UCI points to their season's progress.

Another Strong Finish by Jozsef Attila

Though not racing in Mentorise team colors for off-road events, we can’t overlook the performance of Jozsef Attila, who put in a fantastic ride to finish 8th in the UCI C1 event. His finish also secured him first place in the National CX Series stage at Urseni, an achievement that speaks to his skill and resilience.
